管氏公司董事长管有成（仪铭饰演），已届退休之年，决由其子大用（华伦饰演）继其衣砵。大用母（李伟饰演），则急于替子完婚，选定珠宝商之女碧霞，及著名画家之女千丽，由大用挑选其一为妻。可是二女皆非大用心目中的对象。某日，大用在偶然机会下，巧遇宝贝育幼院刘院长（鲁平饰演）之甥女连莲（林凤娇饰演），双方发生误会。大用急于逃离现场，匆忙中遗下皮包。连莲只得根据皮包中之地址，将皮包送回给大用。而此际大用刚好与二女敷衍，见连莲至，情急智生，硬将连莲成为未婚妻，川息二女之心。但与连莲又发生第二次误会……
